Isolated Trees

As a film-maker, Lockdown1 presented its own set of challenges to Nick Tree. As work came to a shuddering halt, Nick found himself with the time on his hands to film his own family, and to tell a story about they were affected by the changes to their world. Nick took advantage of the clement weather and shot ‘magic hour’ over the course of several days – as a result of the settled and fine weather, continuity was never going to be an issue and Nick’s beautiful photography perfectly captures those strange days in the Spring of 2020. With no planes in the sky, and with no traffic noise from the neighbouring roads, Nick’s daughter was able to engage with nature on a new, intimate level. Her appreciation of birdsong for the first time is joyous.
